firemint

well its been awhile but firemint v2 is almost ready. just need to improve the settings window and then test in a few different browsers. firemint v2b1 is still lacking stats and features, at the moment it will only show a list of peppers, visits since installation date, and some mint information.

firemint v2 will require the expose pepper to be installed on the mint installation. expose is a simple pepper which enables an xml based api for accessing mint data.

in the settings window of firemint v2, theres an option called ‘meta string’ which can be customised with various tags to change whats displayed in the status bar of your browser.

[requirements]

firefox 3 or flock 2 (should work fine in firefox 2)

md5 hash: 5c129329999ddf99affa6f142a421380

note: if your going to install a beta version of firemint, i suggest you regularly check for updates through firefox / flock. backup your browser profile before using a beta build.

[installing]

installing is a breeze, once the extension has downloaded firefox / flock will install the extension and request you restart the browser. once its restarted you will see the Mint leaf in the left corner of the browser window.

before firemint will display any information you will need to config the settings, you can find them by right clicking on the Mint leaf. to specify a new Mint install, just fill in the API key field, and Mint url, make sure to include a trailing slash. i.e. http://84degrees.com/mint/. then click add, to edit a Mint install just click on the url that appears in the list, and then properties will appear in the fields.

[meta string tags]

%vs_u -> unique visits since installation of mint
%vs_t -> total visits since installation of mint
